We are going to start a new Social Studies unit comparing the past and present.
We are asking the kids are to bring in an object that was made before they were born and share it with the class. As part of our Then and Now unit.
Check out the video, https://www.teachingchannel.org/video/show-and-tell-themes with your child so you know what the project will look like and sound like. The video is from a kindergarten class, but it is perfect for first grade, too. It will give your child an opportunity to present information to an audience.
Please fill out the attached form about your child’s object so they will be able to present the item to their class.
Please understand that this object will stay at school for at least a week, but we will keep them in a safe place. If you need the object back quickly, please contact your child’s teacher.
